Context

With the rise of the independent entrepreneurs, freelancers and digital nomads all over the world, working remotely is a game changer. As the movement is becoming bigger so the search for affordable, inspiring and flexible work places is getting traction.

For some of us working from a noisy coffee shop won't be good enough.
Co-working means building meaningful connections.
For all you digital nomads out there! You don't have to work in solitude.

Question

So what do you do if you happen to be in an unknown part of the world and need a space to work from?

Goals

Design a search platform for those working remotely looking for the best workplace in town. The app will suggest best places to work from depending on user location or by searching a specific area.

The users will be able to book a desk or office for a period of time, check all the facilities available on site and message the host directly.

The idea behind the app was to bring makers together by sharing valuable skills in the same workspace and building a community of free range professionals.
Don't tie yourself to a single desk. Be flexible.

Discovery

Coming from a freelance background myself it wasn't difficult to get in the shoes of any creative wanting to break free from the same dull office.

For the purpose of this study I've embarked myself in getting to know other mobile professionals looking to love the place they work from.

Firstly, this project started with a research on digital nomads community, freelancers and other remote workers. From conducting interviews and online surveys I have gathered enough data to put my UX strategy to test.

Navigation

Giving clear directions.

The user is invited to navigate the app using the iOS classic nav bar. The decision for this type of layout has been taken purely for mobile ergonomics and for the fact that users are already familiar with it.
